Joe Rogan’s Thoughts On Sensory Deprivation
Joe Rogan is typically associated with one of the world’s most intensely physical activities — mixed martial arts fighting. But he’s also been a vocal advocate of a mode of physical therapy that relates as much to developing a sound mind as it does a relaxed body. “The sensory deprivation chamber has been the most important tool that I’ve ever used for developing my mind,” Rogan says, considering it vital mechanism “For thinking, for evolving.” (more…)

Have you ever walked around for hours at a fair or amusement park and stopped at one of those Footsie Wootsie machines to give your poor feet a much-deserved massage? If so, the dollar or so you paid was probably worth it, putting a noticeable spring in your step.
Can you imagine the same effect on your whole body? Whole Body Vibration Machines follow the same concept as their fairground brethren, but with better technology and more comprehensive results. During a WBV session, you stand, sit or lie on a vibrating platform that transmits energy to your body and forces your muscles to contract and relax several times a second. Beyond an invigorating massage, WBV Machines offer a range of health benefits for adults of almost any age and fitness level.
Think of all the things you do in a day. You scarf down breakfast and rush to work. Then you sit at a desk for hours and hours at a time. On the way home, you fight traffic on the way home and then hurry to get the kids to their activities. Or maybe you’re an athlete, and you spend hours every day pushing your body to its limits.
Either way, most of us work hard, push hard, and stay busy all day every day. Just thinking about everything you do in a single week is exhausting, isn’t it?
Now take a breath and picture yourself floating. (more…)
The medical benefits of cryotherapy are plenty, that is why many hospitals and training centers are installing cryotherapy chambers. Cryotherapy is not just a “new celebrity fad,” in fact, it is not a fad at all. Cryo – from the Greek meaning cold, and therapy – from the Greek meaning cure, it is just that, a cold cure. Using freezing temperatures is common, especially athletes after an event who usually take an ice bath. Cryotherapy is a step further than an ice bath, it’s the maximum chill for your body at sub-zero temperatures that helps you recover faster than ever before. (more…)
Varicose veins, those spidery blue and purple roadmaps that appear on your legs, can be painful – both physically and emotionally when they leave you embarrassed to show off your legs.
The traditional method of healing varicose veins was with a painful surgery. There are alternatives that are easier and far less painful than undergoing surgery, including diet and exercise, and now, cryotherapy.
While your genetics may influence whether you develop varicose veins or not, it isn’t the sole cause. Hormones, pregnancy, obesity, and even your your profession may be factors.
So how can you lessen or repair varicose veins?
Cryotherapy may reduce the appearance of varicose veins, or even eliminate them.
If you have varicose veins, a session in our cryosauna will stimulate your circulation and improve the overall appearance of varicose veins. As the cold air in the cryosauna rushes over your skin, it drives your blood deeper into your body to prevent it from cooling. That reduces the blood in your surface veins, which are the varicose veins that you see.
You’ll notice a visual mprovement in spider veins too. Spider veins are just small, dilated capillaries. These veins will constrict when it’s cold, and that will make them less obvious.
And when you warm up after your cryotherapy session, the returning blood flow will carry nourishing oxygen to your skin cells, and increases the amount of oxygen the skin receives. Your skin will glow from the improved circulation.
If you suffer from acne, whether it’s teenage acne or adult acne, you may benefit from cryotherapy.
Cryotherapy facials use localized ice-cold vapor to reduce the temperature of your skin to 30 degrees Farenheight. This kills the bacteria that causes acne.
Then, when your skin temperature returns to normal, the increased circulation bring extra nutrients to the skin while removing toxins and waste that can trigger outbreaks.
You’ll look healthier and any blemishes you already have will heal faster. After just a few sessions, you may notice that your skin looks amazing, your pores are smaller, and there’s an overall more youthful glow.
If you’re more mature, you may see lighter age spots, a tighter, more firm texture, and an increase in collagen which results in fewer fine lines and wrinkles.
The National Institutes of Health sponsored several studies on the effects of local cryotherapy on the human body. Most of the studies were focused on pain and showed favorable results.
