FAQs

Don’t forget to check out our Cryotheraphy FAQ page for answers to the most asked questions.

Your body has remarkable powers of rejuvenation that help it to recover from accidents and illnesses. Science has begun to use this to leverage recent health inventions like cryotherapy.

What is Cryotherapy?

Cryotherapy involves the use of very low temperatures to cool the body. The cold causes blood vessels to constrict, which will reduce any inflammation. Inflammation causes aches, pain, illness and injury. Cryotherapy may:

  • Relieve joint and body, back, and neck pain
  • Eliminate cellulite
  • Burn an extra 500-800 calories in just 3 minutes
  • Improve recovery and soreness after working out
  • Improve circulation
  • Increase endorphins and improve mood (may be beneficial for depression)
  • Reduce or remove varicose veins
  • Rejuvenate your skin and collagen levels (so you look and feel younger)
  • Alleviate arthritic conditions

What to Expect

You should arrive at Revital Ice at least 15 minutes before your appointment. If you arrive late, you may need to reschedule. The check in process will take you about 5 minutes and an additional 5-10 minutes to prepare for a whole-body cryotherapy session. For whole body cryotherapy, you’ll spend 3 minutes in the cryosauna, and one of our technicians will be in the room with you the entire time. Don’t worry about your privacy, the cryosauna only reveals your head and neck! For local cryotherapy, including, cryo facials or hand rejuvenation, your technician will tell you how to dress, and give you time to prepare. Your modesty is always protected at Revital Ice. When you’re done with your session, you’ll have 5-10 minutes to dress, and your checkout process will take a few minutes more. Don’t forget to re-book your next session!

Whole Body Cryotherapy

With whole body cryotherapy, you get the maximum benefits of cryotherapy for your entire body during a 3-minute session in our cryosauna. The cryosauna is a single-person step-in chamber which envelopes your body while keeping the head and neck exposed above the chamber. The cryosauna reaches temperatures of about -240 degrees Fahrenheit.  The cryosauna is equipped with numerous safety features and door is never locked, which allows you to stop your session instantaneously at any time. The dress code during your session is minimal. Your session will be most effective with maximum skin exposure to the cold air.  During your treatment you may wear:

  • A Robe (this is removed during treatment)
  • Special Socks / Slippers and Gloves that we provide
  • Underwear (bottoms)
  • Sports bra (women, optional)

Because of the temperatures, it’s important that your clothing be dry and cotton. This will prevent extreme cold spots on your skin during your session.

What to Expect

Step 1

Head to the private changing room where you will disrobe (Minimal clothing recommended, men must wear underwear), women can wear a sports bra, panties, or bathing suit, although we recommend maximum skin exposure. All jewelry must be removed. No underwire bras or any undergarments that contain metal.

Step 2

Put on one pair of socks, gloves, shoes and robe all of which will be provided by Revital Ice Cryotherapy.

Step 3

Step into the Cryosauna. Your trained and certified Cryosauna operator will be there to guide you through your Cryotherapy session. You will then hand your robe to the operator. We will only see your face, as the rest of your body will be concealed in the Cryosauna.

Step 4

The operator will begin your Cryotherapy session- cool dry air will circulate your body for just 2-3 minutes in which during this time your skin surface temperature will drop significantly. Once completed the technician will return your robe and help you to exit the Cryosauna.

Step 5

Upon exiting the Cryosauna when the Cryotherapy session is over, the body vasodilates and the enriched blood is released back to the skin surface tissues, muscle tissues, and joint spaces that have been flushed of toxins.

Local Cryotherapy

Local cryotherapy targets a specific area of your body for a 5-10 minute session of intense internal freezing. Similar to icing, but more powerful, local cryotherapy may reduce pain, inflammation, and swelling of the targeted areas. It’s great alone, or as a booster to a Whole Body Cryotherapy session. Many people use it to treat injury, recover from intense activity, or to manage long-term conditions like chronic back strain, arthritis, or pain.
